TRAINING SCHEMESTRAINING SCHEMES
Learning is a lifetime activity going way beyond university teaching. Choosing a career with us will extend your capability and help you to develop into a competent and successful engineer able to exercise good judgement and take responsibility for managing other staff.

Wentworth has an approved graduate training scheme accredited by the ICE and a place is offered on the training scheme to every eligible graduate choosing a career with us. The scheme is structured to give each graduate sufficient experience to successfully achieve chartered status normally within 3-5 years of joining.

Each graduate engineer is supported by a Delegated Engineer and a Supervising Civil Engineer appointed by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). Quarterly reviews help to organise the trainee’s development and maintain a personal development record. This process helps focus their objectives to develop an action plan to become a Chartered Engineer. The training scheme is led by our own Supervising Civil Engineer and we have the added benefit that our managing director is an ICE reviewer.

As part of the training agreement there is opportunity to work on site between 6-18 months to gain valuable site experience in the construction industry and see the construction of your own designs. This gives the individual insight into practical issues that need to be considered during design. Working at Wentworth presents fluid transitions across a variety of disciplines to work in civil engineering, structures and geotechnics. There is opportunity to work with many different teams and environments.
