ICE COOPERS HILL WAR MEMORIAL PRIZE

We’re pleased to announce that the paper on temporary works at Earls Court written by our Managing Director, Stuart Vaughan and Principle Engineer, Tomasz Mochol, have won the Coopers Hill War Memorial medal and prize.


WHP is delighted to share that the paper by our Managing Director, Stuart Vaughan and Principal Engineer, Tomasz Mochol, Temporary works for demolition of Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London, UK has been awarded the Coopers Hill War Memorial Prize by the Institution of Civil Engineers.

The winning paper will shortly be made free to read in perpetuity on the ICE Virtual Library, the most comprehensive online civil engineering resource in the world, and will be promoted to the wider community.

The paper, published in 2020, describes the challenging temporary works used for demolishing the vast Earls Court Exhibition Centre in central London, in particular the removal of a major access bridge and one of the main roofs.
