WHP Managing Director Stuart Marchand presented on temporary support of excavation at the annual John Mitchell Lecture

On 22nd January 2020, our Managing Director Stuart Marchand presented at the John Mitchell Award Lecture in the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Stuart provided a wide-ranging review of the type of support available for providing ground support and their limitations of use for deep excavations. This  also included discussion on connection details, why these are important and where they can go wrong. Challenges with excavation and comparison between permanent works and temporary works were also explored. The evening was a success with full house attendance.

The event was recorded and can be viewed online through the ICE website here.
