The opening of the site, initially located at Ferrybridge C Power Station, marks the second stage of WHP’s growth plan to develop a wider UK offering, following its earlier expansion to Belfast.
Managing a team of up to ten staff, John has joined to ensure the leading design specialist of temporary works, geotechnical, and permanent works has the required local knowledge and experience to support businesses and construction projects in the region.
John has spent the last 15 years executing multi-discipline engineering projects in the power generation (thermal & nuclear), defence, oil and gas industries. The projects have included new-build, upgrade and retrofit, statutory outage and demolition. He is also a chartered engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers with post graduate qualifications in Power Plant Engineering.
Tim Lohmann, Director at WHP, said, “We had an extensive recruitment process to select our leadership for this new venture and are delighted to have secured John Laverick. His wide local experience in the process and power industries will enable us to improve our service to our existing customers in the region and help us develop our services to the process and industrial markets.”
Commenting on his new role, John said, “As Regional Director of Wentworth House Partnership, I will be recruiting a team of civil, structural and geotechnical engineers and developing new business opportunities in the North of England. I’m incredibly proud to be working for such an innovative company and look forward to growing its presence.”
As a first task, John and his team will be leading the engineering aspects of the demolition of SSE’s Ferrybridge C Power Station in West Yorkshire.
